CLARKSVILLE, TN — The Customs House Museum & Cultural Center is closed to the public until April 1, 2020 in response to COVID-19.
All scheduled events and programs during this time have been canceled.
“It is with a heavy heart that we have made this decision, but our top priority is to help mitigate the spread and impact of the coronavirus,” museum officials said in a news release. “In the meantime, we are continuing to prepare the Museum for reopening by enhancing our cleaning and maintenance.”
For those who planned to attend the Wonders of the West Reception scheduled for Saturday, March 21, that event has been canceled. However, the exhibit will be on display through May 31 and will be open for viewing during the Southern Watercolor Society Exhibit Reception on May 16.
“Although we plan to reopen to the public on April 1, we will continue to monitor the development of COVID-19 and review the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Tennessee Department of Health as well as local government direction.,” officials said.
They will continue to update the public as decisions are made via the Museum website, social media, and e-mail.
