CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville Parks & Recreation and the Coast Guard Auxiliary Unit will be having a boating safety class at the Crow Community Center around 9 a.m. on April 5.
Four hours of the class will be done in the morning and afternoon, with a lunch break in between and breaks throughout the day, as needed.
The class will cover the safety precautions of boating, a benefit for those in the community who have recently acquired boats, or those who wish to learn updated information. The class is designed to help the average boat owner become a better, more prepared skipper. Both motorized and non-motorized boats will be discussed. The class is open to people ages 12 and up.
Those who pass the exam at the end of the class will be issued a wallet boating safety education certificate as proof of successful completion. Those attending should purchase a Type 600 Boating Safety Exam Permit from any business that sells hunting and fishing licenses which will serve as a ticket to take the exam.
Only 25 spaces are available for the course. The cost is $10 at the door for those who register online, and $15 for those who do not.
