Fort Campbell, KY. (CLARKSVILLENOW) Early Tuesday morning, 101 soldiers with the 1st Brigade Combat Team were welcomed home at Campbell Army Airfield. The soldiers returned from a nine-month deployment to Iraq, Kuwait, and Syria.
Tennessee U.S. Congressman Mark Green, a retired Army combat veteran, was on hand to welcome home his son John, a Lieutenant with the 1st Brigade. “It’s a whole lot different when it’s your kid. You think about it differently, your perspective is different, it’s amazing to have him home. We’re grateful that he made it back and we appreciate his chain of command for doing such a great job with a very difficult mission,” said Green.
