HOPKINSVILLE, Ky (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County are partnering with the Hopkinsville Fire Department for Tuesday at the Town Clock. Local firefighters will read a story and introduce kids to some of the equipment in the museum.

The next Tuesday at the Town Clock will be held on Tuesday, August 6 at the Woody Winfree Fire-Transportation Museum at 10:30 a.m.

This month’s story will feature the City of Hopkinsville’s beloved Engine No. 1, which was purchased in 1928 and served the community for over 40 years. It has been preserved and will return to the Woody Winfree Fire-Transportation Museum this Friday, August 2.

This program is free and open to the public.

The Woody Winfree Fire-Transportation Museum is located at 310 East 9th Street under the red and white town clock. The museum’s collection includes HFD fire trucks, a Mogul wagon, firefighting equipment and a Model T touring car. The Museum is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m-4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m-2 p.m. General admission fees are $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for kids; however, there is no admission fee during Tuesday at the Town Clock.
