CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy David (Bubba) Johnson, who died in a car crash while on duty Sunday, January 12 was laid to rest Wednesday, January 15 at Sango Cemetery. Johnson spent 16 years with the Sheriff’s Office and before that served 11 years as an officer at the Clarksville Police Department. He also worked four years with the Montgomery County Emergency Medical Service.

First Baptist Church Grace Chapel in Clarksville was filled with law enforcement personnel, emergency personnel and first responders from across Tennessee and Kentucky. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy John Smith spoke briefly at the service with Sheriff’s Chaplain Ted Denny officiating.
“To the Johnson family from our Sheriff and all of the members who make up the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Clarksville Police Department, all of the different law enforcement agencies, fire departments and EMS. We want to thank you for allowing all of us to celebrate the life of your husband, your daddy, your son and your brother and our friend,” said Denny.
Following the funeral, individuals from CPD, MCSO, and EMS saluted the passing vehicles along the route of the procession. Law enforcement officers from various areas in Tennessee and Kentucky were in the procession, including those from Montgomery County, Rutherford County, Greenbrier, and Nashville, TN, as well as Hopkinsville and Oak Grove, KY.
