OAK GROVE, Ky. – Kentucky State Police (KSP) are investigating a single-vehicle, fatality collision that occurred on Interstate 24, at approximately the 92 mile-marker Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 2:48 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Andrew J. Arnold, 29 of Clarksville, TN, was operating a 2008 International Loomis armored vehicle eastbound on Interstate 24. For an undetermined reason, the vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway. It traveled up an embankment, and then back down. The vehicle reentered the roadway and overturned as it crossed both eastbound lanes. It came to rest upright in the median.

Arnold was pronounced dead at the scene by the Christian County Coroner, Doris Lamb. Arnold was wearing a seatbelt. Police say Arnold died from a medical condition, not from injuries sustained in the collision.

The passenger, Robert J. Damer, 38, of Chapmansboro, TN, was transported by Air Evac to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment. It is unknown if Damer was restrained.

Trooper Michael Dennis is continuing the investigation. KSP Post 2 officers, The Christian County Sheriff’s Department, Oak Grove Fire & Rescue, Oak Grove EMS, Air Evac, the Christian County Coroner’s Office and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet assisted at the scene.
