CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Rewind 94.3 is extending its winter coat drive through Saturday, Jan. 18 to help those in need of warm clothing during a particularly harsh season.
Coats, scarves, gloves, hats, and other warm clothing can be dropped off at Action Air (868 Kraft St.) the five YMCA (260 Hillcrest Dr.), or any Royal Cleaners location in Clarksville.
New and gently-used items will be accepted, and Royal Cleaners will professionally clean all coats prior to distribution.
“We desperately need children’s coats,” said CC Carmack, on-air personality for Rewind 94.3. However, all sizes and styles will be accepted. CC will be at Zaxby’s at 1694 Fort Campbell Blvd. from 4-6 p.m. to collect as many coats as possible.
CC joined the Manna Café Mobile Pantry Tuesday, Jan. 7 at the New Providence Community Policing Center to pass out more than 40 coats to men, women, and children. “It’s just a whole different reality. There were children in line for food who didn’t have parents,” she said. “We gave away every coat we took within 20 minutes. We could have given away twice as many.”
The second distribution will be held Thursday, Jan. 9 at 5:30 p.m. at CMCSS Central Office (621 Gracey Ave.).
The final coat distribution will be Saturday, Jan. 18 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Salvation Army (210 Kraft St.). Anyone in need is welcome to pick out a warm winter coat.
