CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The City of Clarksville launched a brand new website this week that officials say will enhance the City’s ability to engage and serve its citizens.
“The new website is visually clean and crisp, and makes striking use of colorful, attractive views of the City,” Mayor Joe Pitts said in a release. “More importantly, it gives us a giant leap forward in technology that will allow citizens to interact with City Government in new and more efficient ways.”
The new website offers these key features:
• A mobile optimized design that allows citizens to easily navigate and interact with City content from any desktop computer, smartphone, or tablet.
• Personalized logins that allow citizens to create a website account, making it a personalized tool to get alerts, download forms, submit applications, pay bills, and submit and track inquiries.
• Calendar alerts that allow citizens to stay informed about public meetings, classes, activities and other opportunities for engagement.
For example, a resident can access the “Citizen Request Tracker” to report a pothole to the Street Department, or report a suspected property violation to the Building & Codes Department. Similarly, a citizen can use the “Notify Me” function to register for notifications when news or a meeting agenda is released, or when a bidding request is posted for a City contract.
Clarksville’s new-look web project is the first major upgrade of the City’s website since 2012. The vendor is CivicPlus, an integrated technology platform that specializes in products for local governments, and serves more than 3,500 municipalities, counties, and municipal departments.
The website also provides an expanded Clarksville Parks & Recreation section. In January, Parks & Recreation began its conversion to the new platform, installing CivicRec, the CivicPlus’s event and program registration application.
The City website address will remain www.cityofclarksville.com and existing bookmarks will convert to the new site automatically.
