CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A male pedestrian was hit and killed by a tractor trailer Friday, Dec. 27 around 7:15 a.m. on Highway 76 between Fire Station Road and Hutco Drive, according to Officer Natalie Hall with the Clarksville Police Department.

The tractor trailer was heading northeast on Highway 76 toward I-24 when it struck Christopher Brian Johnson, 44. Family members say it was his normal routine to walk or ride a bicycle on Madison St. and Highway 76 in the early morning hours for exercise.

The driver of the tractor trailer has been identified as Edward Loomis of Clarksville. There are no pending charges at this time, and the investigation is still ongoing.
