CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies have apprehended 56 year old Whoville resident Mr. Grinch charging him with attempted theft of Christmas. Bond has been set at one million dollars.
“We received a tip from Cindy Lou, of Whoville, who said after failing to stop Christmas in several other cities, he was headed to our area,” said Sheriff John Fuson.
Mr. Grinch’s attorney responded to the charges by saying “this is a complete misunderstanding on the part of the Sheriff’s office. “He merely planned to take trees to his workshop to fix them up there and then bring them back here”.
As for all the other items found with Mr. Grinch at the time of arrest the attorney said that will be addressed and explained at the time of trial. It has been discovered that there had been warrants previously issued for Mr. Grinch in Whoville, TN. for similar charges that were revoked after none of the residents would press charges.
An accomplice of Mr. Grinch, who was poorly disguised as a reindeer, turned out to be his canine companion who answered to the name Max. Sheriff Fuson said investigators spotted Max at the dog park near Clarksville Marina “and outfitted him with an undetectable tracking device and audio receiver.” Fuson added, “Thankfully, for our investigation, Grinch tells his dog everything.
It is believed Mr. Grinch intended to coerce Max into participating in the planned crime spree. Max was handed over to Montgomery Co. Animal Control and his name has been changed to “Zepplin.” He is up for adoption and hoping to find a forever home in time for Christmas. See his photo and information below.
Zepplin is a four or five month old red mixed breed puppy. He was found as a stray and has very unusually wavy hair along his back and big ole feet for a baby. For adoption information call 931-648-5750.
