CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Over 250 people braved temperatures of around 94 degrees Wednesday for the annual Reading of the Declaration of Independence at the historic Montgomery County Courthouse. On hand for the celebration, dressed in period uniforms, were the local Sons of the American Revolution color guard who fired muskets and Porters Battery who helped man and fire the cannon at the courthouse.
Many others also came dressed from the Revolutionary War era, along with many patriotic shirts and of course there were many American flags on hand.
