CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – With Christmas just around the corner the Marine Corp Reserve and the local Marine Corp League Detachment 603 is in full swing with their annual Toys for Tots campaign.

There are over 200 collection boxes in businesses and other locations all around the area ready to be filled with donated toys for deserving children for Christmas. Toys for Tots is currently accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys for their collection campaign which runs through December 15.

The toys will be distributed to many local organizations as well as individuals on December 21. Toys for Tots also accepts monetary donations which will be used to purchase toys for children for Christmas and all of the toys that are bought with donated funds are purchased at stores locally.

Local coordinator for Toys for Tots, Mike Kohler talked about the success of the program. “We’re looking to help right around 12-15,000 kids. We helped over 10,000 children last year and this year we’re trying to get more to help the community out as much as possible,” said Kohler.
