Jazz on the Lawn
Enjoy a free concert (and free parking) at Beachaven Winery Saturday from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Bring your own chair or blankets. Food is permitted, but no outside alcohol.
Hummingbird and Butterfly Festival
The annual Hummingbird and Butterfly Festival will be back at Dunbar Cave State Park on August 19, 2017.
The festival will start at 9 a.m. and last until 3 p.m. The event will have actives that include hummingbird banding demonstrations, butterfly identification, hikes, children’s arts and crafts, presentations on hummingbirds, bluebirds and gardening.
Movies in the Park
Movies in the Park — the City of Clarksville’s free, outdoor movie series — continues on Saturday, Aug. 19 with the showing of “Space Jam” at Liberty Park’s amphitheater, 1188 Cumberland Drive.
Pre-show activities, coordinated by the Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department, will begin at 6 p.m. and include:
• Grit Fitness & Wellness will lead a basketball warm-up, relays, and other fitness activities.
• Special performance by Acro Dance Express.
• A speaker from Austin Peay State University, who will share information about the total solar eclipse that will unfold in Clarksville Aug. 21.
• The popular Culver’s Frozen T-shirt Contest.
