Robertson County Sheriff’s Office

Mack was found shot to death inside a car late Wednesday morning on 21st Avenue near Woodland Street. Police said he was slumped in the front seat of the car, which was in gear with the engine running. The doors were also locked and the windows were rolled up, and it appeared the car slow-rolled into a tree.

Someone called 911 around 11:30 a.m. after finding the 25-year-old, who was pronounced dead by emergency officials after the car’s door was pried open by police.

Boyd was arrested later Wednesday and booked into the Robertson County jail where he’s being held without bond.

Springfield police have not released a possible motive for the crime at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
