CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Palmyra Volunteer Fire Service and the Montgomery County Coon Hunters Association will be hosting a fundraiser event to help raise money for the Firefighter Jesse Knowles “Keep Truckin” Scholarship.

One $1,553 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating Montgomery Central High School senior athlete.

Jesse Knowles was a Montgomery Central graduate of 2012. He enjoyed living life to the fullest by playing football, racing RC cars, and tinkering with his 1966 Mustang. Jesse’s inspirational spirit and fight to never give up has touched the lives of all that knew him.

Jesse was diagnosed with brain cancer at the age of 14. He lost his battle on October 22, 2016. Jesse was a Firefighter with Palmyra Volunteer Fire Service. His call sign was 1553. He was awarded Firefighter of the Year for Palmyra Fire Service, as well as Montgomery County Fire Service in 2015.

Scholarships will be awarded to students who portray characteristics of Jesse and who are actively involved in their school, church and community.

The two organizations will be holding a coon hunt, silent auction, and will be selling chicken dinner plates on April 22, 2017. Everything begins at 12:00 pm at 3283 Harris Circle Palmyra, TN at the Palmyra Volunteer Fire Service Station.

You can purchase chicken dinner tickets anytime from any Palmyra Volunteer Fire Service Member for $10.00. You will receive 1/2 chicken, potato salad, baked beans and drink. Serving time is 12:00 pm. Please come out help this great cause. Any and all donations will be accepted.
