CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Patriot Robotics VEX team earned the Excellence Award at a VEX Robotics tournament and will be moving on to VEX 2017 CREATE U.S. Open Robotics Championship held in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Patriot Robotics is an independently operated team and the only independent team in the state of Tennessee. Team members are George Michael Huttick, a Senior from Rossview High School, and Adam Riley, a Junior, and Matthew Riley, a Freshman, both from Kenwood STEM Academy.
The Excellence Award goes to those teams who have a high tournament qualification round ranking, high programming skills challenge ranking, robot skills challenge ranking, exemplary engineering notebook and intensely judged performance in all other award categories.
Patriot Robotics is the first and only team in Clarksville that has been invited to compete at the US Open Robotics Championship. They are also the only team in Clarksville that has qualified for the Tennessee State Championship held at Brentwood Academy. There the team has an opportunity at qualifying for the VEX Worlds Championship held in Louisville, Kentucky.
