CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Demos’ Restaurants, an independent restaurant company based out of Murfreesboro, TN, has officially opened their newest location in Clarksville off Wilma Rudolph Blvd.

We decided to give it a shot in December. The menu offers a variety of Italian and American style food items, with just about every pasta combination available.

The new building boasts a simple but elegant atmosphere, with way more seating than I expected. Despite the fact that my coworker and I chose to visit at lunchtime during one of the busiest holiday shopping days, we were seated immediately.

We started with the Cheese Toast appetizer, and we certainly weren’t disappointed. Tons of cheese piled on warm, toasty bread with marinara dipping sauce. Yes, please.

Before our Cheese Toast arrived, we were also brought a basket of complimentary fresh-baked bread. Had we realized that, we probably wouldn’t have doubled up, but lesson learned.

My coworker opted for pasta since it’s one of the largest categories on the menu. He chose the Meatball Spaghetti (ground beef and pork, blended with onions, olive oil, mint leaves, oregano, garlic, and basil over al dente vermicelli, topped with homemade marinara – $7.49) with a Caesar salad. I’ve been to the Nashville location and have ordered pasta every time, so I tried to be different and ordered the Mozzarella Chicken (grilled chicken tenderloin topped with thinly diced ham, mozzarella cheese, and marinara sauce – $10.79). My entree came with a side, so I chose hashbrowns. Strange combo, but it was a carbo-loading kind of day.

The prices are pretty decent for the portion sizes. In addition to pasta, you can also choose from chicken dishes, steak, seafood dishes, salads, soup, and a few appetizers.

My coworker seemed to be pretty happy with his spaghetti dish, and I really enjoyed the mozzarella chicken. However, the hashbrowns were a little cold and limp, not crispy like I was expecting. They also didn’t go very well with the chicken and marinara, but that was my own fault. I’d like to try the zucchini next time.

Our orders were delivered very fast and we were never left wanting for anything. The servers were friendly and attentive.

While we were waiting for the check, I noticed the table next to us had ordered a giant pineapple chopped in half and filled with chicken salad. It looked amazing and I’d love to order it when I visit again.

I personally found Demos’ to be a decently-priced option with flavorful food. Check it out!
