NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency says it will have officers watching boaters in the Cumberland River and area lakes this Labor Day weekend for what it terms ‘dangerous boating behavior,’ such as boating under the influence or other reckless operation.
To date in 2016 on Tennessee waters, there have been 17 boating-related fatalities. TWRA officers have made 105 BUI arrests.
During the 2015 Labor Day weekend, there were six BUI arrests. Officers also issued 70 citations and assisted 71 boaters in need.
