CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) came close to cancelling the first full-day of school Wednesday due to lightning from Tuesday evening’s storm.
The storm significantly impacted the school district’s main servers, which support bus transportation, PowerSchool, Food Services and phone service in critical areas, such as Central Office.
The CMCSS Communications Office sent out this tweet early Wednesday: “Thanks to those who worked through the night and early morning, we have all critical systems up and running. We appreciate your patience and trust in CMCSS to ensure student safety.”
Parents also received an early morning call confirming that that classes would be in session.
A video posted by Manuel Pritzl on Facebook indicates a fire may have been started at Central Office due to a lightning strike. This information has not been confirmed by CMCSS.
