STEWART COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A county coroner says a woman died late Thursday morning after apparently being struck by lightning.
Coroner Greg Barrow told WKRN News 2 the woman, who has been identified as Francine Crowl, was camping in Dover when the accident happened around 11:50 a.m.
Her husband reportedly found her under a tree at the Piney Campground in Fort Henry Road.
Medical personnel announced the 63-year-old victim dead after arriving to the scene.
Barrow confirms it appears she died due to a lightning strike, but an official autopsy will be completed to determine the cause of death.
