NASHVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The State of Tennessee’s Annual Tax Free Weekend began at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 29 and ends Sunday, July 31 at 11:59 p.m.

All clothing and school supplies under $100 per item are tax free, as well as computers under $1,500.

“The sales tax holiday is a great way for families to save money as students go back to school, while at the same time you can support our local businesses and economy,” said Rep. Joe Pitts.

Any individual can make a tax-free purchase during the holiday. However, items purchased for use by a trade or business are not exempt.
