MIDDLE TENNESSEE (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook message for most of Middle TN, including Montgomery County.
Heat index values will rise into the upper 90s and lower 100s Thursday. Prolonged outdoor exposure could result in heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Wear light clothing and drink plenty of water.
The heat is expected to lessen throughout the weekend.
Thursday night brings a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms in the area. Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible, and some may become severe. Damaging winds and small hail will be the main threats.
A line of storms hit Montgomery County late Wednesday afternoon, causing power outages and damage to trees. Downed power lines also started two fires.
