HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – An individual has died after sustaining injuries from a head-on collision that occurred Sunday night in Hopkinsville.
According to a police report, a witness said the driver of a Honda Accord nearly hit the witness head-on in the Sheffield Down Subdivision. The witness followed the Honda and noticed multiple erratic lane changes. The witness was able to get the Honda to stop at the intersection of Fort Campbell Blvd. and Lowes Dr. when the driver almost hit the witness again, who moved out of the way.
The driver of the Honda continued driving the wrong way on Fort Campbell Blvd. and collided head-on with a Mitsubishi Lancer.
The driver of and passenger of the Mitsubishi were transported to Vanderbilt by Lifeflight.
The driver of the Honda, identified in the report as 43-year-old Thanh Nguyen, was transported by Air Evac to Skyline Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. No further details have been released.
