CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW.COM) Clarksville City Councilman David Allen was arrested Sunday on a single charge of domestic assault.

According to an arrest warrant, Allen’s wife, Tonya Graves-Allen stated that she and her husband had an argument Saturday night after he didn’t accompany her to an an event. She said during the argument, which took place at 1700, Autumnwood Blvd., Allen threatened to disconnect her cell phone since he pays the bill.

Graves-Allen told police that her husband “lunged” toward her to take her cell phone out of her waistband and pushed her onto the bed. The warrant stated that Graves-Allen did not have any signs of injury.

Allen serves the constituents of Ward 8 as a member of the Clarksville City Council.

According to the warrant, Allen, who has no prior history of domestic assault, was released after posting a $500 bond. Allen has a May 9 court date.
