CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The 5th Annual Fright on Franklin, presented by The City of Clarksville & Altra Federal Credit Union, will take place Saturday, Oct. 26 at 3 p.m. in Downtown Clarksville.

This free, family-friendly, and award-winning event is for adults and kids of all ages and will feature safe trick-or-treating, a hayride, costume contests, and much more.

Pre-registration for the costume contest is required. There will be no registration the day of the event. Contest participants can register beginning Sept. 15 through Oct. 25 at the Parks and Recreation office or online at recpro.cityofclarksville.com. The contest is free to enter and open to ages 0 to 12. Prizes will be awarded. There are a limited number of spots per category. All costumes should be in good taste and appropriate for a family event.

New this year to the costume contest are two additional categories for all ages to compete in – “Group” and “You Made That?” All costumes must be homemade to compete in the “You Made That?” category.

Prizes include free Chick-Fil-A for a year, $100 gift certificate to the YMCA, candy baskets from Sweet Memories Candy Shop, Free dance classes at Rhythm Inc., family 4-pack to ICE, and more.

Event Schedule:
3:00 p.m. – Performance by Acro Dance Express
3:30 p.m. – 0-2 year old costume contest
4:00 p.m. – 3-6 years old costume contest
4:30 p.m. – “You Made That?” costume contest
5:00 p.m. – 7-9 year old costume contest
5:30 p.m. – 10-12 year old costume contest
6:00 p.m. – Group costume contest

Pets will not be permitted.

The following streets will be closed to thru traffic from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013:
Franklin Street from Public Square to 2nd Avenue
1st Avenue from Main Street to Franklin Street
Half of Strawberry Alley to North 1st Street
All of Public Square
