CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the promotion of Don Newlove to Corporal, Lisa Roach to Corporal, and Barry Thompson to Field Training Officer.
Cpl Don Newlove is a 30-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office. Previous duty assignments included jail security and the court house. He will now serve as supervisor for Circuit Court at the court center.
Cpl Lisa Roach is a 17-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office. She was one of the first female deputies hired by then Sheriff Norman Lewis to work the detention center. Roach will serve as supervisor for General Sessions Court at the court center.
“I like serving the public. I’m a people person and I love my job,” she said.
Roach plans to continue her career at the Sheriff’s Office until retirement.
Barry Thompson has been with the Sheriff’s Office for one year. He will serve as a training officer for new deputies at the detention center. He previously worked as a civilian criminal investigator with the military and retired from the military after 20 years of service. Thompson and his wife Leiah are proud to call Clarksville home.
