CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A popular Clarksville nightspot announced that it is closing permanently.
A post on the venue’s official Facebook page said:
“To all of our friends, guests and supporters over the last, almost 12 years. We are proud to have had the opportunity to serve and entertain you, but we are closing the doors of The Lodge Sports Pub, permanently.
Thanks for the long run and the great memories.”
Several of those who commented were unhappy about the announcement:
• “had so many great memories there I’m sad to see the door is is closing during March Madness and the NFL season and the games we used to play out on the deck some best times I had here in Clarksville truly going to be missed”
• “Lots of great memories were made at The Lodge! This was the place where I meet my husband over 8 years ago. We will both miss it!”
• “I hate how the place turned out I definitely had some great times there.”
Since 2003, The Lodge, at 3025 Mr. C Drive off Wilma Rudolph Boulevard featured live music, DJs, dancing and televised sporting events.
Last month there was a fatal shooting in the nightclub’s parking lot. Terence Harwell, 25, died at the scene. Cornell Hurley, of Clarksville is facing criminal homicide charges in Harwell’s death.

“That soldier on soldier death literally cost me my business,” said owner Frank Caldwell. “On Fridays we had played Hip Hop music, that I am told by CPD was attracting the wrong crowd.”
Caldwell said the club featured Hip Hop for the past nine years.
In an interview with Police Chief Al Ansley, he said to ClarksvilleNow.com that the statement is ‘vague.’
“Who made that statement? When did they make that statement?” he said.
“I have never as Chief of Police made that statement to him, nor anyone else under my command,” he continued. “To my knowledge no one has ever said that to him.”
