CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A barricaded man was killed in an officer-involved shooting Friday following a standoff at an apartment on Big Sky Drive.
Clarksville police attempted to talk to the man, identified as 49 year old James Vaughn, who was the ex-boyfriend of a woman who recently disappeared in Middle Tennessee.
TBI spokesman Josh DeVine said the situation escalated after Vaughn would not cooperate with police.

Members of the tactical team entered the apartment to find Vaughn pointing guns at them. An officer shot him and he died at the scene.
There were no other injuries.
The officers’ identities have not been released. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been requested to conduct the shooting investigation and agents remained on the scene Friday night.
