MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. – A line of severe thunderstorms hit Middle Tennessee, including Montgomery County, Monday afternoon into the evening.

Damaging straight line winds and hail were seen in several parts of the county.

Nearly 18,000 people were temporarily without power as the storms rolled into the area.

Readers have told ClarksvilleNow.com that a pole was split by lightning at the intersection of Madison St. and Crossland Ave. and traffic lights are down on Madison Street near Richview Rd. and Wilma Rudolph Blvd. near Needmore Rd.

Trees and power lines were down in multiple areas, including Hawkins Rd., Delmar Dr., and Greenland Farms Dr.
