CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A sinkhole that opened up Thursday on I-24 beside the eastbound truck lane has been repaired.
“With all of the rain we’ve had we did have a sinkhole that we have had before open up on I-24 eastbound around mm 9.5. We spent most of the day working on it and for the most part it’s all patched up,” Kathryn Shulte, Public Relations Officer for the Tennessee Department of Information (TDOT) told ClarksvilleNow.com.
Shulte added that they may have to come out next week and have a lane closure for further repair but it is patched up at this point. The repaired sinkhole is on the shoulder and the truck lane was blocked for a while Thursday, but there are no lanes blocked at this time.
Editors note: The original report indicated that the sinkhole was in the westbound lane of traffic.
