Review by Pamela Holz
You know how you drive by those little restaurants but never stop in because you are just… admit it… a little scared? Fear no more! Little Saigon shall no longer be on your drive by list.
Located near Dover Crossing off Fort Campbell Blvd., Little Saigon is a simple little restaurant with anything but simple flavors.
For starters, enjoy fresh spring rolls and kimchi or fried wontons, egg rolls, or dumplings. Entrees include Lo Mein, Fried Rice, Chicken Curry, Hot Squid, Bulgogi-a Korean dish of grilled marinated meat–, and my favorite, Beef Short Ribs– absolutely finger-licking delicious! If you are in the mood for seafood, Little Saigon offers catfish, red snapper, perch, whiting, tilapia and flounder, all served with fries and coleslaw.
But the reason I go to Little Saigon with great frequency has to be the pho (pronounced /fu/). This Vietnamese noodle soup comes in a huge bowl which you then pile full with fresh bean sprouts, cilantro, and jalapeños, a few squeezes of fresh lime and generous squirts of hoison and Sriracha. Some have claimed this soup to have miraculous curative powers, overcoming everything from the common cold to the headache that commonly comes from a late night out. All I know is that it is simply delicious.
Lots of variety, tons of flavor! Don’t drive by—stop by and try out Little Saigon. It is worth the time and the trip!
