Proposed ‘Slow Poke Law’ would fine slow drivers

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The proposed Tennessee “Slow Poke Law” was passed by the House Transportation Committee Tuesday and now goes to the House Finance Committee.

House Bill 1416 would fine drivers $50 for driving in the passing lane when not passing another vehicle.

Exceptions do exist for weather conditions, traffic jams, and other situations.
