CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A man has been charged in the break-in of two different Walgreens on the same night within an hour of each other.

Officers responded to separate alarm calls Wednesday, June 7 at two different Walgreens locations between 2:15 and 3:15 a.m. The first alarm sounded at 1460 Fort Campbell Blvd. and the other at 1751 Tiny Town Rd.

Police said the businesses were broken into in a similar fashion and three men were involved. The suspects entered the buildings through the drive-thru windows and stole an undisclosed amount of prescription drugs.

A light-colored SUV was seen leaving the scene of both break-ins, which was spotted on Ashland City Rd. shortly after the second break-in. Police attempted to stop the vehicle but it fled from the scene. The vehicle was later spotted in the parking lot of a Crossland Avenue apartment complex.

Police found a man lying down inside the SUV, along with clothing inside the vehicle that matched the suspect’s clothing from surveillance video. Shards of glass and marijuana were also found inside.

The suspect was identified as Jermaine Phillips, whose TX driver’s license was suspended.

According to police, Phillips has an extensive criminal history involving burglaries, felon in possession of a handgun, evading, and various other charges.

He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and charged with: simple possession, evading arrest, unlawful drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license, and two counts of burglary. His bond was set at $185,000.
