CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) A Facebook group called Big Dogs of King’s Run Bark Park have started a petition due to the conditions at the facility, located at Liberty Park.

The petition reads as follows:

The conditions of the King’s Run dog park have substantially deteriorated since the gate has been broken.

There are unregistered dogs coming in with disrespectful owners and causing problems for those of us that have paid for the security and cleanliness of this particular park.

Our dogs’ safety has been jeopardized because the city refuses to get a better gate or fix the gate currently in place.

We are out of ideas or options as paying residents as to what else to do to resolve this issue.

Please let us know that our concerns are not going unheard.

Patrons of the park pay a $10 annual fee and must provide documentation that pets are spayed or neutered and have up to date shots.

The fee covers the cost of a key fob which opens the gate allowing access to the park.

The lock has malfunctioned repeatedly for several months and currently doesn’t lock which means anyone can bring a dog to the park.

Members say they have contacted Parks & Recreation about the problems, but the issues remain unresolved a month after making contact.
