OAK GROVE, Ky. – The chief of the Oak Grove Police Department, as well as another officer, are currently under investigation by Kentucky State Police (KSP) for possible criminal activity.

The Oak Grove Mayor’s office confirmed that Chief Les Langdon and Maj. Jozef Alter are the subjects of the investigation Thursday, but could not provide further details because the cases are still ongoing.

Detective Dan Morck with the Drug Enforcement Special Investigation Section of KSP said both men have been suspended with pay for approximately the past three weeks.

“It’s hard to say right now, we’re just trying to figure out exactly what could possibly be criminal,” Det. Morck said. “It’s too early in the investigation to say what, if anything, is criminal at this point.”

Morck said the investigation may turn out to be an administrative issue.

He said the investigation will likely take several weeks, if not months. If criminal activity is discovered, the case will be presented to the county attorney.

Major Dennis Cunningham has assumed responsibility of the Oak Grove Police Department in the interim.
