CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A new, larger Veterans Affairs (VA) Clinic is currently under construction in Clarksville.
The facility will be located at 782 Weatherly Drive off Ted Crozier Blvd.
Brian Sipp, Public Information Officer for Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, said the 34,000 square foot building should be complete by December 2017.
The current facility, located at 1832 Memorial Dr., will close once the new facility opens.
Sipp said the new clinic is necessary due to increasing demand for services in Montgomery County, which is one of the fastest growing counties in the nation in terms of veteran growth.
“It was determined that we would need at least 40,000-44,000 square feet just to accommodate Primary Care, Mental Health, Audiology, Telehealth, X-ray and Laboratory services up to 10 years into the future,” Sipp said. “This will improve access, which will likewise reduce wait times for appointments.”
The new facility will employ approximately 150 people.
