CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville will soon have a new option for purchasing fresh groceries.

The Silver Cow is a food market that sells locally-grown produce, farm-raised meat and dairy products, and a variety of other food items that come strictly from farmers and vendors in Tennessee and Kentucky.

Owner and dairy farmer Joni Lucas Davis is excited to shake up the way people purchase food.

“We want to make the best food in the area available to people at an affordable price point, so people don’t have to choose between good food and paying their bills,” she said. “Everyone deserves to be able to eat well.”

The new building, recently constructed at 110 Fairview Lane, also houses a full-service kitchen that the public will be able to rent and use for organizational events, etc.

A vendor expo will be held Saturday, April 23 at 10 a.m. as part of The Silver Cow’s grand opening celebration. The event features a petting zoo, giveaways, live music, a grill master cook-off, and nearly 80 local vendors.

The majority of the vendors participating in Saturday’s celebration will have products sold at The Silver Cow. They include:
• J’s Meats and More
• Good Eats
• The Giddy Biddy Goat
• Earth Rose Herbals
• Circle J Ranch
• Southern City Flavors
• Lost River Creamery
• Naturally Made by Rebecca
• Bartholemew Farms
• The Egg Shack
• Lavender Moon Oils
• Heavenly Knots
• Briar and Bean

The store is located at 110 Fairview Lane, but the grand opening event will be held in the adjacent church parking lot.

Vendors can sign up for the event through Friday by emailing an online application to thesilvercowtn@gmail.com.
