After weeks of battling for the top spot, American Idol contestant Tristan McIntosh went home Thursday night.

Tristan is a Tennessee native and former winner of Q108’s Clarksville’s Got Talent. After being selected for the show, she was honored by Montgomery County with a special proclamation.

On Thursday, Idol revealed the top five contestants based on America’s vote, with Tristan and fellow contestant Sonika Vaid landing in the bottom.

The two had a chance to sing for the judges’ final save.

Tristan chose to belt out “Independence Day” by Martina McBride, while Sonika went with Demi Lovato’s rendition of “Let it Go.”

Both gave strong performances, but Jennifer, Harry, and Keith gave the save to Sonika.

Tristan, who is just 15-years-old, said she felt she had grown as a country artist during her time on the show.

The final five contestants (Dalton Rapattoni, La’Porsha Renae, Sonika Vaid, Mackenzie Bourg, and Trent Harmon) will now rely only on America’s votes as they head to the finale.
