CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The ClarksVillain Roller Girls will host their final event of the 2016 season Saturday, November 5 at 6 p.m. at the Clarksville Speedway, 1600 Needmore Road.
Their opponent will be Clarksville’s other roller derby team, The Red River Sirens. Though both teams have enjoyed active seasons separately, they have not played against each other since 2014.
“Roller derby is a big world,” ClarksVillain, Petti LaBelle said. “We worked together closely in our infancy, but both teams needed some time to grow and compete at different levels. Though we are in the same town and play the same sport, we’re two completely different teams and it will be exciting to see how that plays out.”
The game will also be the final game for veteran player, Charmaine “Beastmode” Coles. After three years, the fan-favorite plans to pursue her roller derby dreams out of state.
Following the women’s game, there will be a co-ed mash-up that features all of the men from both of Clarksville’s roller derby programs as well as guest skaters from the surrounding states.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. Spectators can find the event space easily by utilizing the Boyscout Road entrance to the Clarksville Speedway. Parking is free and the event is wheelchair accessible. Tickets at the door will be $12 for adults, with all children 12 and under free. Beer and other concessions will be sold in the new vendor area.
