CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville nightclub known for hip hop and Top 40 Dance music is aiming to broaden its audience by launching a live music series on Friday nights.
King’s Nightclub will launch the Live at King’s Concert Series February 17 with 90s country hit maker Ty Herndon in concert.
“We hope to provide a live music experience that will keep local music fans here in Clarksville rather than always going to Nashville for a night out,” said owner Heather Harris.
King’s Nightclub has a massive stage, sound and lighting system designed for live music and Harris said the series gives them an opportunity to showcase that aspect of the club.
Their inaugural concert will be followed by shows every week, including The Stacy Mitchhart Band (Feb 24), The Jon Royce Band (March 3), Daryle Singletary (March 10), Darryl Worley (March 17) and Meghan Linsey (March 31).
Harris said while the first shows are country and blues she’s looking to book other genres and is now working on scheduling April and May dates.
Ty Herndon, who got his first big break on the TV show “Star Search,” has been receiving much attention lately with write-ups in People and Rolling Stone Magazine and a feature on Oprah Winfrey’s ‘Where Are They Now?’
His hits in the 90s include “What Mattered Most,” “I Want My Goodbye Back” and “Living in a Moment.”
