CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Two local fundraisers happening in July will seek to raise the funds necessary to send thirty veterans to Washington D.C. to visit various war memorials.

To support the cause, community members can participate in a car wash hosted by VFW Post 11160 located at 1068 Lafayette Road from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on July 26 or purchase food at Buffalo Wild Wings located at 110 Hampton place from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. on July 31.

All proceeds from the car wash and ten percent of all pre-taxed sales for customers who present their server with a fundraiser ticket when ordering will be donated to the Screaming Eagle Honor Flight, the non-profit organization that provides veterans with a free one day tour of the memorials built in honor of their service.

The group previously received donations from the Priscilla Group of Madison Street United Methodist Church, Fort Campbell Federal credit Union and the United States Submarine Veterans Volunteer Base in Nashville, though donations are still much needed. The next scheduled flight will be on September 27 for terminally ill, World War II and Korean War Veterans. The organization also hopes to serve Vietnam War veterans in the future.

For Buffalo Wild Wings fundraiser tickets, send an email to Screaming Eagle Honor Flight at screamingeaglehf@charter.net with “ticket” as the subject line, or download them from the Screaming Eagle Honor Flight Facebook page.
