CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) The westbound lanes of Interstate 24 are blocked by a truck fire and by a second crash in Christian County.

Christian County 911 Dispatch reported a call about a semi fire on I-24 Westbound at about 2:08 a.m. Saturday. The trailer of a semi loaded with energy drinks caught fire at about the 92 mile marker blocking both westbound lanes.

At 3:42 a.m., Christian Co. 911 received a report that a passenger vehicle had crashed into the medial barrier and caught fire about about the 93 mile marker westbound. This second crash is about3/4ths of a mile west of the Kentucky-Tennessee State Line.

Estimated duration is about 5 to 6 hours.

At this time, Tennessee is assisting by exiting traffic off at Exit 1 to TN State Route 48 at Clarksville. Traffic may detour South on TN State Route 48, then head west via Tiny Town Road into Kentucky to US 41-Altnernate, then north to reconnect with I-24 at Exit 86.
