CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A boat exploded on the Cumberland River in Clarksville on Sunday, injuring two people.

At about 4 p.m., Clarksville Fire Rescue, Montgomery County EMS and Montgomery County Fire Department responded to the Montgomery County Conservation Club, according to CFR.

A house boat was refueling when the boat exploded. Two of the occupants of the vessel were injured, CFR reported.

One was male and one was female, according to CFR Assistant Chief Michael Rios. The female was going to be transported by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt, but Lifeflight was canceled and she was taken to Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville.

The male was also transported by EMS to Tennova.

The fire was extinguished.

The Conservation Club boat docks are off the US Highway 41A Bypass a couple of miles upriver from downtown.
