WASHINGTON – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States is campaigning to allow consumers to purchase alcohol 7 days a week.
Under current law, retailers are prohibited from selling wine and spirits on Sunday, which the council calls “draconian.”
According to the group, “These archaic laws no longer serve a public interest, undermine business freedom, and eliminate consumer choice.”
A campaign, titled “Boot The Ban!” urges Tennessee residents to contact lawmakers and tell them to allow 7-day alcohol sales.
Tennessee consumers deserve the freedom, convenience + choice of 7-day alcohol sales. Join us as we fight to #BootTheBan! https://t.co/7cFqkOZLUy
