In order to make sure everyone’s gaming experience is ideal, CDE will have the systems running on a 1 Gigabit wired connection with a switch to ensure optimum Internet speed for online and offline game play. One Gigabit of Internet bandwidth is approximately 100 times faster than the average Internet speed. Gaming, provided by SuperCon 2k Series and Alienware, will be on in full force on April 17 from 6-9 p.m. and April 18 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Gig City Gaming area will be host to several different types of games, including titles such as Call of Duty, HALO, Dance Central and Super Street Fighter 4. There will be a listing of games and play times available outside of the Gig City Gaming Event to view the maturity ratings and game types. It is the parent and/or guardian’s responsibility to monitor the games their children will play. There are multiple games, with different age appropriate levels, available all day long. To learn more about ESRB rating system for games please visit the ESRB Ratings website, www.esrb.org.
The Gig City Gaming area is sure to be very popular, so staff will be moderating the play time of all participants. Many of the games have a definite start and finish, so once a player finishes a round, match, dancing, or whatever the case might be, they will be required to rotate out to allow the next waiting player time to play.
