CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville Fire Rescue responded to the Walmart on Madison Street Tuesday around 1:14 p.m. after smoke was reported in the building.
Deputy Fire Chief Ray Williams said a light ballast in the store overheated, causing smoke to spread throughout the store. An extinguisher was used on the light as a precaution but it did not catch on fire.
No one was injured.
As of 1:45 p.m., employees had opened doors throughout the building for ventilation. Customers are urged to avoid the store until the smoke clears.
