CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Another option for Indian food has been brought to Clarksville.

Paradise Indian Grill, located at 620 Dunlop Lane, offers a lunch buffet as well as an extensive dinner menu. For those who aren’t familiar with Indian food, descriptions of each dish are written on the menu.

My coworker and I recently visited the newly-opened restaurant to give the lunch buffet a try. We were seated in a booth by the door, which was uncomfortable on a cold day, but the decor was pleasant and the staff was friendly and helpful.

The buffet choices included Butter Chicken, Kebab, Dal Tadka, Gobi Chili, Spinach Tomato, Kadai Paneer, Chicken Saag, and a few other choices. Mixed salad and soups were also available.

Our server brought a large, decorative water jug and a basket of warm naan to our table before we filled our plates at the buffet with a little bit of everything.

My favorite dish, hands-down, is the Butter Chicken (chicken in a mild-spiced curry sauce). It has a little kick, but is still mild enough for those who are afraid of spicy dishes. The sauce is creamy and goes well over a bed of rice.

The Gobi Chili (cauliflower fried with diced peppers and tomato sauce) is also mild and delicious. The dish is not thick or soupy like a typical American chili and can serve as a meal on its own.

The Kadai Paneer (a type of cheese curd in a tomato, onion, and curry paste) was my second favorite buffet option and I’m not ashamed to say I had at least three servings. This dish is a must-try for anyone who visits during lunch time.

The overall experience at Paradise Indian Grill was more than satisfactory and I’m sure I’ll stop in again soon.
