Dwight Luton is announcing his candidacy for the position of Clarksville City Council, Ward 10.

Mr. Luton has over 28 years municipal government experience, including serving on the Clarksville City Council for 17 years, serving multiple department chairs and being elected by his peers to the position of Mayor Pro-Tem.

From 1995 to 2007 Mr. Luton served as Director of Utilities for Clarksville Gas and Water Department.

In 2007 he founded D2 Energy, LLC.

He has experience serving both administrative and legislative in municipal government for more than 35 years, and is familiar with all city departments and understands how municipal government operates. Mr. Luton currently works with approximately 20 natural gas systems across Tennessee and Kentucky.

Mr. Luton is committed to improving Public Safety, improving Clarksville’s streets, roads and highways; better management of City government, better ways of serving Clarksville ratepayers and taxpayers. He will work diligently to set policies and procedures to reduce operation cost.

Mr. Luton is an experienced, qualified leader ready to serve the citizens of Ward 10 and the City of Clarksville. He is fair, honest and
knowledgeable and wants to be your public servant.

Community Service: Past member, Board of Directors Clarksville Chamber of Commerce; Past President North Clarksville Kiwanis Club; Member of Masonic Lodge; Served as officer in Association of United States Army (supporting Ft. Campbell); Founding member of Clarksville Small Business Association who helped pass laws that supported small businesses.
Family: Married to Jean Cross Luton. Together they have four children and four grandchildren.
