CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville City Council voted unanimously Thursday to pass the nominees of Mayor Kim McMillan for the commission to put together a charter for consolidated government for Clarksville-Montgomery County.

Some council members said they were reluctant to approve the list of five people. They agreed each of the choices would do a good job serving on the Charter Commission, but had hoped for more diversity in the five member group that will join the ten nominees from County Mayor Jim Durrett to make up the Consolidated Government Charter Commission.

The five are Debbie Frasier-Clarksville Finance Director, Keith Lampkin-Clarksville Community and Economic Office Director, Mark Smith-Retired former Clarksville Police Chief, Lynn Stokes- Retired former Internal Audit Director, and Ray Williams-Clarksville Fire Rescue Deputy Chief.

Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett announced his 10 nominees Thursday. The County Commission will vote on his selections at a later date.
