CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Austin Peay State University’s Head Football Coach, Will Healy, spoke at the Clarksville Kiwanis meeting Tuesday August 28.
Healy spoke about the upcoming season and the upcoming game against the University of Georgia (UGA) this Saturday, September 1.
UGA is currently ranked the number 3 team in the nation, while APSU made school history by being ranked number 22 in the STATS FCS preseason poll.

Coach Healy seemed to be pleased with the schedule this season, saying, “Playing [FBS school like UGA] the first week has been the best thing that has ever happened to us. I have never been so excited about an opener in my life.”
Healy said he looks forward to being tested by a team that has a legitimate chance of winning the national title and he thinks this game will be a great chance to see how APSU football measures up against completion.
Austin Peay will play in front of one the largest crowds for opening weekend of college football with a predicted 93,000 fans.
